A local Left Party youth leader has been forced to resign after issuing a death threat against Sweden's migration minister Tobias Billström on Twitter.
"I want to shoot Tobias Billström. I will be truly happy when he dies. From the depth of my heart, I really mean it," wrote Christoffer Hurtig, chair of the Left Party youth league in Luleå, on Twitter on March 11th.
While Hurtig deleted the post, his comments emerged on Friday and the Left Party acted to remove the 26-year-old from his post.
"We have called on him to resign and to go out with a public apology. I have been in contact with him and he has accepted this," said Left Party youth league head Hanna Cederin to the Aftonbladet daily on Saturday.
Hurtig duly returned to Twitter on Saturday to express remorse for his actions.
"I apologize to Tobias Billström for my statement. Violence is unacceptable in all circumstances," he wrote.
According to several media reports, this is not the first time that Hurtig has courted controversy on Twitter, having previously expressed satisfaction at the death of Princess Lillian.
Tobias Billström has come in for criticism from both party colleagues and opponents after a couple of controversial interviews.
In an interview with Dagens Nyheter last week Billström unleashed a storm of outrage with comments that people who help illegal immigrants in Sweden are rarely "blonde and blue-eyed".
He has since issued an apology for his comments and has been on the receiving end of a stern reprimand from Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt.

You know that immigration and multiculturalism are a problem in Europe when even Leftists are issuing death threats to government officials over their suicidal immigration policy.
In sweden the left rules every small details of lives. Always amuses me to hear that death threats to others come from rabid lefties. In Sweden you must adhere to the socialist mantra if you don´t you are labeled a racist, a homophobic, a far right dangerous religious nutter. Sweden is being invaded by muslims and the useful idiots on the left welcome them with open arms.
The rest of Europe is going the same way, I wish I could move to the USA,after hussein is not president anymore.
So, what does a “migration minister” do in Sweden?
Is it his responsibility to ensure that Muslims have no problem getting into the country, and are immediately enrolled for welfare payments?

Violence is acceptable when repulsing an agressor intent on doing you bodily harm, or to your family.
As I understand it, Hurtig wanted to “shoot Tobias Billström” because the latter dared imply that the illegals were not being aided by ‘blue eyed blondes.’ To Hurtig’s lefty view a definite racist statement. He’s gone (at least temporarily) but others not so foolish a to state publicly their same strongly held beliefs are firmly in place.
Political parties in Sweden are fairly typical.

None of them have a large enough majority to form their own government, so have to have coalition partners. The Social Democrats (socialist, a member party of the Socialist International), has the larger number of seats.
However, the Moderate Party rules, (moderate-conservative)(whose party logo looks like an upside down Westinghouse logo) because it can form a majority coalition with three other parties. They have spent much of their time fixing the disaster the socialists left when they were in power.
The Left Party is small, with only 19 seats, and this loudmouth, is tied with the Christian Democrats, which is unusual because in other Euro nations, the Christian Democrats are often a leading party.
