Love it!
Geeze...I was born into house full of [gasp!] “unlocked” guns and have never known any other life.
You heard something, you grabbed whatever was propped or laying nearest the door or window you heard the noise at.
Everything was loaded so there were no delays.
We left our doors unlocked and went away for two week vacations and nobody touched a thing.
Never had a bit of trouble until the libs decided The Wastelands of W.MD were touristy and started hauling themselves and their little hell spawn out this way every weekend.
It might take ‘em a good scare or two but they learn that “No Trespassing” ~isn’t~ just an idle suggestion.
Couple weeks ago I was sitting here late at night and the boy heard something that raised his hackles and got that scary-low snarl going.
I didn’t wanna wake up hubby by fetching a gun from the bedroom so I just slithered out with the dog and flung the front door open.
The dog charged out b#lls to the wall and whatever it was skittered off into the woods.
The Boy did his blacker-than-the-blackness-invisible-dog perimeter check and came back in all puffed up, “snorty” and proud of himself.
He got biscuits for his trouble.
I was half expecting to hear a shocked shriek out in the yard but there was only the sound of leaves crunching.
Dunno if it was man or beast but it likely won’t come back.
Can’t wait til ‘Halla gets big enough to tag-team with him.
4 eyes and 84 teeth are even better than 2 and 42.
[and yes, I am an antisocial, dog-siccing, typical ‘billy...why do you ask?]
:D
I guess CPR wouldn’t hurt. The toilet plunger should do nicely.
Wasn't that an episode on Justified this season? ;^P
Firearms were locked up but not in a way I couldn't get past if I had wanted to. They didn't need to be locked up at all because the thought of defying my dad was far more effective security than any safe could be. In my 20s it was just me and my sister in the home we grew up in. Only gun left then was my .22 rifle.
I like the sound of your Special Ops team. Factory equipped with night vision and olfactory radar! LOL
Oh, and, I didn't ask. I don't ask ... I wouldn't ask.
There was no asking going on, really!!!
Nice doggie!
“They didn’t need to be locked up at all because the thought of defying my dad was far more effective security than any safe could be.”
Oh, yeah.
I knew that rule -real- well. LOL
My hide would’ve been tacked up on the barn if there’d been any ‘playing with guns’.
“If you take one out, there better be something dead in the yard when I get home.”
The cool thing about the Special Ops team is their tight black suits and silent stalking.
Caninjas!
:D
Ain’t that the truth.
Every time somebody talks about ‘trigger locks’ and mags stored separate of the pistols and gun safes and all that idiocy, I’m like “WTH’s the *point*, then?”
Might as well keep a box of rocks by door.
:-\
“You should be administering CPR when the cops arrive.”
And a sledge hammer.
[well...I’m not big enough to adequately compress some big dude’s chest, ya know]
Owoooooo! werewolves of Maryland.
You’re only looking at a single item. We’re in agreement on allowing full autos to be owned by US citizens.
Take a look at this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Switzerland#Carrying_guns
That would be a reduction of rights for Americans. I’m not in favor of that.
They are investigating because the homeowner failed to follow the advice from the VP and just unload a double barrel shotgun through the front door.
“I’m taking my dollies and going home!” -Dontlaughitsnotfunny
That was..so hurtful.
We got us a live one here!
