As far as Im concerned, Biden just directly insulted my mother, a legal Irish immigrant (from Dublin, back in the 60s).
Youve got me wondering what the USA would look like if the Irish language was pushed on the USA back in the 1800s; that would be bizarre, seeing bilingual road signs saying Nua Eaḃroc / New York for example . . . and you reminded me of when I first read about Benjamin Franklin once thinking that German would overtake English as the USAs chief language, once going so far as to print a German-language newspaper called the Philadelphische Zeitung . . .

Things were much different back then. Again, look at the pre-Wilson immigration laws. It was better and fairer too.
