DENVER Investigators looking into the shooting death of the director of the Colorado Department of Corrections will look at the possibility that Tom Clements murder may be tied to the recent decision not to grant a transfer of a Saudi man in a Colorado prison.

I looked to see if you posted any mention of “the story” and didn’t see any. That leads to the question, “What story?”
That the crime was committed by someone linked to al-Turki and the motive was the victim’s refusal to repatriate him to Saudi. That seems to be the main direction of the investigation at this point.

Without discounting the Saudi connection, my first thought when I heard was that it sounded kinda biker style. This seems more like a criminal hit than an international terrorist attack.
The reason I shy away from that theory is that this guy was just a (very) high level bureaucrat. Decisions about prisoners are generally made by others. One thing he was directly involved in, however, were some painful decision about prison closings, which can have a big effect on a small town's economy.

Thanks for the ping!
But why the heck would that perp drive to Monument, find the head of Corrections in a remote subdivision and kill him?
