I make the Atwater argument in the book, contrasting him to Rove, and it wasn’t pretty for Rove. One of Rove’s associates tweeted me this morning to try and sell me that Rove was an Atwater guy, becuase they had worked together. But as you pointed out, Rove ain’t no Atwater - and neither Bush was a Reagan either....

LOL. That reminds me of how they tried to twist that Rove was President Reagan's guy in Texas and 'ran' his campaign in 1980.

Rove is almost as good at revising history as shrillary.

Forgive me for not knowing your book was out, nor that you mention Atwater in it.

I cannot wait to read it!!!

Atwater knew how to fight, and would often fight the way his opponents fought, you know, like most successful warriors throughout human history.

The left went berserk over the willie horton ad, claiming that it was racist. The Rove factions simply accepted this premise and decided to go the way of "new tone" and "compassionate conservatism" which cemented the left's characterization of us.

Thanks for your response.
