Catholic Church Turns To Anglicans To Fill U.S. Priest Shortage

(CBS News) MILWAUKEE -- Sunday is anything but a day of rest for Father Tim Kitzke. On the Sunday we followed him, the priest said Mass at three different Milwaukee churches, held a luncheon for dozens of parishioners and baptized a baby.

Kitzke and one other priest are in charge of seven churches in the Milwaukee Archdiocese. There used to be a time when 14 priests covered the seven churches.

"It's not only -- maybe not the old model ... but it's the old reality," he says.

The number of Roman Catholic priests in the United States has steadily dropped from nearly 59,000 in 1975 to just under 39,000 last year. But the number of Catholics in the United States has increased by 17 million.

Asked if he worries, Kitzke says, "Definitely, yes, we obviously need more priests -- that goes without saying, we need more vocations."

Quite the contrary. Stop indicting the entire Church with the actions of some Bishops and seminaries who gave the finger to the Holy See. Painting with a broad brush is the modus operandi of leftist pukes.

Advancement to religious vows and ordination should be barred to those who are afflicted with evil tendencies to homosexuality or pederasty, since for them the common life and the priestly ministry would constitute serious dangers.

It is ultimately the Catholic Church and the Vatican that is in charge of the Cardinals the Bishops and through them the individual parish priest and various religious orders. It is the Homosexual ‘Lavender Mafia’ within the Church hierarchy and especially the Curia of the Vatican that is ultimately to blame for the Pederast, Homosexual atrocities.

They have systematically, for decades; protected, promoted, and infiltrated the Church for their own power and disgusting, perverted, evil purposes. The Church AND EVEN THE POPE, must take responsibility for the actions of these deviant sickos in their ranks. They where complicate in evil when they didn't forcibly remove and defrock MANY, MANY, MANY Homosexual and active ephebophiles over the course of the last half century.

They also distance themselves from the Grace of God when they allow so many people in public life commit and push for evil acts while they continue to call themselves Catholics and LIE about being devout so they can fool the average low information Catholic to vote for them. Many of these miscreants should be PUBLICLY excommunicated.

There is the sin! There is the indictment! That is a fact! The Church promoted men to leadership positions that where KNOWN to be gay. They promoted them into positions that allowed them to protect themselves and their fellow travelers in evil. And they have admitted it! They must now follow through and punish those who are still causing the destruction of the Body of Christ. And sometimes that means actions that are unpleasant and not PC! Look no further than the actions of The Most Reverend Rembert George Weakland O.S.B., the former Bishop of the Milwaukee, WI Arch Diocese.

....Weakland retired on May 24, 2002 at the mandatory retirement age of 75. Weakland’s retirement was overshadowed by revelations that he paid $450,000 of diocesan funds to a former male lover to prevent a lawsuit. Despite allegations of grand theft/embezzlement of archdiocesan funds, Weakland was never criminally prosecuted for the felony. Weakland continues to reside in Milwaukee and his living expenses continue to be covered by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

This SCUMBAG should have been defrocked, excommunicated and publicly and personally admonished BY THE POPE AND CURIA. HE should have been bankrupted, as he did to the diocese itself, and made to answer for potential criminal charges. Yet, he is fed, housed and paid, TO THIS DAY, by the donations of the average poor Roman Catholic in the pews.

You’re welcome. I’m probably paranoid, but any time a mainstream outlet runs a story like this there is an anti-Church message (in this case, regarding the celibacy the Anglicans aren’t held to). The post-Christian media knows they need to get past celibacy if they want to expand into female clergy (which I’m 100% confident will never happen; the Church needs that link to Christ’s choice of male “priests” at the Last Supper).

Catholic priests from the Eastern Rites are allowed to marry (though I understand the higher ranks are selected from among the celibate ones); apparently that isn’t enough for the PC (post-Christian) crowd.
