[Personally I'd love to see groups of conservatives get together to sponsor poor urban kids with good grades to places like Hillsdale college. I'm about as poor and white as they come but I'm trying to do something.]

I'd like to see that carried even farther by placing these kids as temporary interns inside successful businesses.

Brad, that is a very good idea. Noting for later. Urban is the new Green. I am sick of seeing all the bogus green crap in my corp that does absolutely nothing. Maybe this is our ‘in’.

Steal the ‘it takes a village’ from the left. Teach values starting from the challenged youth.

Many ideas... too much drink and on a cell phone... (and getting dirty looks from the better half while I look at a phone when I should be eating..)

Simply writing blacks off is a sure route to failure for conservatives and the GOP.

I’d really like to see conservatives launch an all out assault on the rebuilding of Detroit by way of fixing the people. People like Ben Carson could serve as ideal role models to show that you can rise above a bad situation. I don’t like playing the race game but I think it really needs to start with good black conservatives. Bring in people like Allen West, Mia Love, Star Parker, Afonzo Rachael, Herman cain etc. Get them out there speaking in the churches and the schools to inspire the folks.

The fact is that most American cities will be in much worse shape than Detroit when the bill comes due and we better have a blueprint for fixing them and making them productive again.
