State Sen. Dan Patrick, R-Houston, whose radio station has regularly hosted Ives' political commentaries in recent years, said that if his past connections to the American Fascist Party were legitimate, the station would no longer put him on air. Patrick said Ives had "never been on our payroll, never been an employee." He called the promotional video and online postings "very disturbing, no matter how far in the past it is."

It seems to me that this should not be a big shock to anyone. The tea party movement is not an organized political party. As far as I can tell those who are motivated by government overreached have agreed to come together for various activities (including voting and supporting candidates). Since anyone can join why would it be shocking to find the occasional nut job.

What I know for a fact is that the dimmy senator from West Virginia was a known head of the KKK and it didn’t seem to bother the lefties

The president of the Greater Fort Bend County Tea Party -- fully investigated. We know the dirt now. An important man like this cannot hope to evade the scrutiny of the major media outlets.

This is why I’ve avoided becoming involved with any organized tea party groups aside from attending tea party express events in my area. Organization provides targets.

My neighbors and I can be tea party minded folks without organizational structure. We just meet for breakfast at a diner when we happen to gather there.
