I'm normally not a fan of paintings since they're typically boring portraits of dead noblemen that you just know the artist prettied up a bit in order to flatter them, or they're inaccurate, over dramatic war scenes.

That painting is incredible. It's dramatic, realistic, eye catching, and makes incredible use of composition and light to lead your eye around the picture and tell a story. Amazing.

You might change your mind, if you saw the detailing on the ruffled collars of this couple, by Rembrandt.

I used to make sure I visited it, every Sunday afternoon, where we studied by the Gardner atrium, listening to chamber music.
