Agreed... Between the unions and congress, they are bound and determined to strangle the organization. We either need to finish the split and make it a totally private corporation or undo the split and make it totally government.
I agree, as a USPS employee. I’m glad they at least make an attempt to self-sustain as an organization, but it’s damned hard to do with a board of directors like Congress. And STUPID leaders like the PMG.
Something happens at every level of government down to the local city council. The idea that to increase revenue means to raise taxes, or in this case price of stamps and service. This ends up having the opposite effect, of course. Less people use the service.
Just like our local municipal golf course, having lost money for several years, they raise rates. This is why they started losing money in the first place. It used to be $7/day for all the golf you want, and it was profitable. Now you’re talking $40 a round if you rent a cart.
A buddy of mine that does shipping every afternoon at his job reported to the local Post Office that due to the recent changes in shipping rates, he’s now shipping more packages via UPS versus the Post Office. How is the Post Office benefiting?
