ObamaCare is pushing physicians into becoming hospital employees. The results aren't encouraging.
The irony is that in the name of lowering costs, ObamaCare will almost certainly make the practice of medicine more expensive. It turns out that when doctors become salaried hospital employees, their overall productivity falls.
The result? It is estimated that by next year, about 50% of U.S. doctors will be working for a hospital or hospital-owned health system.
Once they work for hospitals, physicians change their behavior in two principal ways. Often they see fewer patients and perform fewer timely procedures.

Dr Obamungumbe will simply insist that peasant doctors give a minimum number of orders per day...malpractice will continue as usual.
The formally profitable non-profit large hospital system my wife works for is already threatening furloughs due to Obamacare. They whacked all of their interns.
Doctors aren’t working anymore than they have to since it doesn’t pay.
Free healthcare is about to get really expensive and crappy.
Whole other story is how we don’t have enough docs and nurses now, and you know the significant losses that will come under deathcare. These people weren’t bluffing about retiring, or moving into totally different careers.
My 3 year old Grandson got a taste of Obamacare this past weekend. He was at the playground, fell forward and hit his forehead on a metal part of the playground equipment. immediately a huge bruise with a deep black and blue dent in his forehead.
Immediately went to the Emergency Care Center. They asked who his primary physician was and to call him. We called him. He was on vacation with no backup. Asked the nurses to at least look at him. No. We can’t help you.
Left, went to Children’s Hospital (annex) - same response. We can’t touch him.
Finally drove downtown and he was eventually seen. 5 hours later.
It’s a nightmare.
Any doc worth their stuff will retire as soon as is possible. Practicing under nobamacare will be stifling and deadening. Good luck everyone with your health.

Earlier this year my son was running a very high fever that wasn’t responding to home treatment so we took him to our local Children’s Hospital ER in downtown Cincinnati.
I kid you not, they took an inmate in chains, who did not appear to have any immediate medical ailment, before they saw our son.
We waited hours in the waiting room, his fever broke, we left and followed up with his pediatrician the next morning.
A completely useless visit. Perhaps we should have brought him in wearing chains and an orange jumpsuit?
On the upside it’s given me reasons to learn more about preventative care and first aid.

Unfortunately no. Look at the UK and Canada health systems, they are still around. Also, the Eastern European countries still haven’t recovered from the government healthcare system.
This will make Canada’s system look good by comparison.
How many doctors are going to retire? How many already have?
We already lost our doctor last June because he went to work for a hospital in another town 30 miles away. We might have driven to see him except now he is no longer on staff at the hospital that is only 2 miles away from us. He said himself that the move was due to Obamacare and he was not happy about it.
My mother’s pulmonary doctor (for COPD) joined the hospital and did not want to either. He’s from India, here 30 years, and can’t believe he is watching this country go down the tubes. He can’t stand Obama. He said people from India aren’t coming here because of how bad it is or will soon be.
