At CPAC, Palin Has Not Gotten Any Smarter Since Her Disastrous Political Career Ended

Sarah Palin rocked a packed ballroom here at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Saturday afternoon. The applause was roaring. The hollers many. The atmosphere crackling. In other words: Dog bites man.

Palin's speech, if you can call it that, was Palin at her most Palinesque: heavy on one-liners and folksy charm; light on, you know, anything resembling substance and solutions. Here, a sampling of Palin's many zingers:

"They talk about rebuilding the party. How about rebuilding the middle class?"

"They talk about rebuilding the GOP? How about restoring the trust of the people?"

"Let's be clear about one thing: We're not here to rebrand a party. We're here to rebuild a country."

"Barack Obama promised the most transparent administration ever. Barack Obama, you lie!"

"Mr. President, we admit it: You won! Now accept it and step away from the teleprompter and do your job."

"Remember no-drama Obama? Now it's all-drama Obama."

"More background checks? Dandy idea, Mr. President. Shoulda started with yours."

"[Obama] is considered a good politician—which is like saying Bernie Madoff was a good salesman."(continued)

See, the thing is, we all know how ridiculous Bloomin' Idiot's law is. But how do you attack it? It's hard to satirize, because it's hard to imagine anything more ridiculous.

But for some reason, Sarah pulling out a "Big Gulp" in the middle of her speech was spit-your-Coke-out-your-nose funny, and demoralizing to the food fascists.

She does this over and over again. It's a real skill. She's no dumb bunny.

We cannot allow the Left to use Alinskyite tactics to select our candidates. When they attack Sarah, we praise Sarah, and mock their idiotic candidate. Fight fire with fire. It's the only way. This takes courage, which Sarah has in spades.

While Certainly everyone is entitled to their own opinion, what I take out of that quote is that your enemies will no long expended Capital trying to hold you down if you are no longer a threat (i.e. I sure don't hear anything about Mitt or Jon Huntsman anymore) or if you want a business example, Sears didn't fear Montgomery Ward for years, although Sears is now in a similar boat.
