“On Thursday, the California State Senate passed the first in a spate of 30 gun control bills authored in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting, which, taken together, have the potential to fundamentally alter gun ownership in the Golden State,” Aaron Sankin of The Huffington Post reported.

“The bill, authored by Senator Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) and passed in a largely bipartisan vote, would require a mandatory background check fee on all gun purchases,” the report continued. “The state would then use that money for a program that confiscates firearms from people who are no longer legally allowed to own them due to a criminal conviction, mental illness or court order.”

A court order like a vindictive ex-significant other filing for a restraining order, among other things …? Isn’t it curious how those who actually engage in threatening behavior against women are allowed to plea down and keep their guns –if they’re on the right side of the “gun control” debate and have the right connections?

Your program is a government program. it is administered by government idiots. you trust them and government to do what they say it will do (what you think it will do). what has government done right the gov schools where most graduates are illiterate (NO). If it were up to me I would classify gun grabbers and liberals as having a God Complex.
Should they therefore give up their rights because I think they could be dangerous?

In one instance of the recent gun grab in Ca, some woman was sent to the mental place for 2 days.

They came and took her gun and two guns that her husband owned.
He never did anything, why does he forfeit his rights?

If you lose a longtime spouse, parent or sibling and you get diagnosed as clinically depressed, do you lose your rights for life?
No soldier can serve in a war zone and not come home unaffected.
Some call this PTSD.
People experience PTSD in civilian life too, in divorces or any range of jarring events.

Does this make them unfit?

This is a slippery slope and should be discussed rationally.

This is America, we do not limit the rights of all in a misguided effort to make the world safe.
We ensure the rights of all, knowing that life is complex and often times charges are without basis.

You just empower government when you allow them to determine who is insane or run some gov program. you don't become any safer.defend yourself against criminals or the insane. 2.5 million home invasions per year in the U.S.A. and not many were insane. Each year only 1 mass shooter of the type that the media made famous. the media doesn't report the home invasions committed by very sane evil democrat voters.

HIPPA laws protected them.

Now Obama through a series of executive orders has over turned that.
He flat out called for Drs to ask patients about guns, and assured them that they would feel no legal repercussions
if they turned in some gun owner that they thought was a bit off.

So now Obie has given the green light to any GP or RN to decide if you should be turned in.
This can be done in a matter of hours.
No Psychology degree, no trial, just some liberal RN that is scared you have more than one gun.
