That isn’t true, it is just that the issue didn’t exist and wasn’t even imaginable.

The people who founded America were not writing a constitution to accept abortion and homosexuality in any way or form, if you had brought up that they were, then you would have faced their wrath.

The libertarian view of homosexualizing the military did arise, and was dealt with harshly.

Polygamy arose and was legislated against in 1862, the republican party was founded to oppose polygamy.
