The will CERTAINLY try that, as it worked VERY EFFECTIVELY with getting Obamacare passes.
The told the insurance companies that they would have a captive audience (i.e., the mandate), they told doctors and hospitals that they would be the payer of last resort (for deadbeats), and they told the customers that they would NEVER lose their health insurance, and that it would get cheaper.
So they’ll do the same here. They’ll get sport shooting groups to think that GOA is insane and that even the NRA is a bit paranoid...and with that they’ll get their way.
But I still don’t see it being as easy, given the issue and the number of Republicans in the House.
I think gun owners like us are a bit more savvy and skeptical of the controlled media than the average Obamacare supporting dunce, and won't take people like Dana Milbank's PMS attacks as gospel. The NRA has had the ILA for years, while the opposition to Obamacare had to be built from the ground up.
