As your arrogance is justifiable, I felt no need to include you.
No kidding, just this weekend I found a Remington Bucket O Bullets, which is a bucket of .22 LR hollow points. Paid $ 200.00 for a 1,400 round bucket. I have been looking almost daily for months!
Finally found them on Craigslist and picked them up locally. I think the bucket typically sells for $50.00....
I don’t think facts are, for the most part, being deliberately ignored, but I thought your post was a very good one. I don’t know if you have that data at your fingertips (Work in industry or procurement, etc) but it was nice to have some perspective.
Getting data is one thing, perspective is another.
Sure, I could go out and find data on ammunition manufacturing levels in the US (like you did) or find the contractual data the government set with the manufacturer (that is was multi-year, locking in price, done to avoid mass obsolescence, etc) but...this is just one issue. There are probably at least a dozen other issues that warrant this kind of examination, but most people only have so much time to do it in.
I spent an hour the other day looking up data on Welfare and stringing it together to make a point.
If there was real transparency in the government that is one thing, but it is so massive and bureaucratically obese that even if someone in the government wanted to provide that information to alleviate apprehension, it probably isn’t an easy task.
Anyway, thanks for your post. It enables me to see things in a different light, if true.
I am a megalomaniac with low self-esteem. :)
Perfect. I am a conspiracist, mind you, but this one failed even MY conspiracy urges.
Okay. Thanks for the advice.
Heh heh, I was wondering when it was going to sink in. If the feds decide to go full tilt socialist, I doubt people are going to sit around and let it happen. I think the government expects to cow the public through a few high profile waco style incursions, when instead, they’ll get a full load of low level offensive maneuvers, targeting command, control, and government personnel and infrastructure. A rifle and ammo would be nice to have, but aren’t necassary to engage in guerilla warfare.
I found bricks at WalMart as recently as a week ago here in Tucson, but the actual purchase was at a gun show - I want to say $15 per brick but it might have been less. I was buying other stuff as well so the price is hazy.
