“What should we do?”

Weep.

There has been some pointed Blog criticism of the Russians on this issue.

But the mainstream press and the mainstream science journals ignore it - they're too busy promoting world government, wealth redistribution, and politically correct science.

This is not the first outrage.

Several Antarctic mountains have been judged to be the most perfect astronomical sites on the planet.

There is almost no wind, no humidity, no air pollution, and no ambient light.

I forget the details, but the Russians built something, maybe a research laboratory, that directly interferes with one of those sites.

I guess the UN arbitrates every Antarctic dispute, so good luck trying to win a case against the Russians.
