Sandusky was Paterno's buddy. He was there only because of Paterno's approval. One word, and Paterno could have permanently gotten Sandusky banned from the Penn State campus within 5 minutes. The fact that he was STILL there after many, many rumors and allegations against him indicates Paterno did NOTHING about the sexual abuse when it was obvious something wrong was going on.

Paterno is, in my book, just as guilty as Sandusky, and BOTH should have been fired, arrested and jailed years ago.

No sympathy for the creeps from this poster.

Ditto, ditto, ditto.

Even taking Paterno at his word, we know that a man Paterno trusted told Paterno that Sandusky was engaged in sexual conduct with a child.

Armed with this information, Paterno did... the absolute legal minimum required of him. He didn't exercise any of his not-inconsiderable power to make sure the reports were investigated. He certainly didn't even do anything to limit Sandusky's access to more children.

Paterno is undoubtedly keeping Hell warm until Sandusky gets there. Those who enable, protect and defend child milestones are equally guilty in my book. Even if they're also good football coaches.

Really!!!

So you are saying that Paterno didn't notify his superiors who subsequently notified Sandusky's charity, all of whom told him that he was not to bring any more kids into the football facilities???

And after being told that there were no more incidents by Sandusky at Penn State, and no more incidents for the duration of Four years of apparent stop of abuse:

Chronological Chart of Sandusky’s Abuse from the 2010 Grand Jury Presentment:

•Victim 7 - Abused 1997 in PSU pool.

•Victim 10 – Abused 1997-1999 in pool and Sandusky’s home

•Victim 4 - Abused 1998-2000 in various locations.

•Victim 6 - Single shower incident 1998.

•Victim 5 - Single shower incident 1998.

•Victim 3 - Abused 2000 at Sandusky home & in shower.

•Victim 8 - Abused PSU shower 2000, Victim has not been identified, only by hearsay witness.

•Victim 2 – Abused PSU shower 2001 - witnessed by McQueary – reported by PSU officials, who reported it to Second Mile.

(Four years of apparent stop of abuse.)

•Aaron Fisher (Victim 1) – Abused 2005-2008 at Sandusky’s home & CMHS.

•Victim 9 – Abused 2006-2009 at Sandusky’s home

What's really sad is the pro-Paterno groupies don't understand that's the best you could say for Paterno in this matter. Occams Razor hints that it's likely far worse than that.

Paterno and Folks at Penn State knew.. long before the shower incident was reported.

The incident in that hotel room at the Bowl Game, ended any plausible deniability that the JoePa or Penn State Administration had regarding them “not knowing” exactly what Sandusky was.

From that point forward there is no plausible way for ANYONE in a position of authority in the Penn State organization or the Football program to argue they “had no idea”.

Sandusky was pushed out because of what he did in that hotel room, and it was covered up because those in power knew if it came out it would destroy the program, and harm the school. So instead of handing it over to authorities, they quietly pushed Sandusky out and hushed it up.

It is sad that JoePa’s legacy will be tainted by this, however, it is taint that is justly deserved. You have to completely suspend your brain functions to believe that after the incident at that bowl game that Joe, or other administrators at that school “had no idea”... let alone allowed him continued access to penn state facilities.... then even after that to just “pass it along and think nothing more of it” when someone else comes forward saying the witnessed him abusing a child again, and felt they did what they needed to do.

Reality is simple, Sandusky was JoePa’s friend, he was HAND PICKED to replace him, until that bowl game and that hotel room incident.... suddenly after that, Sandusky is “out” but still around. They knew, they covered up for him to protect their program and the school, and perhaps even to protect a “friend” as well. What was clearly lacking in all this was any effort to protect the children.

There is absolutely no way in light of the facts, that you can conclude JoePa and other folks in the Penn State administrative structure “HAD NO IDEA” post that hotel room bowl game incident. THey knew what this guy had done and was doing, perhaps not ever single incident but they knew what he was and they protected him.
