I wonder what would have happened if a bystander pulled out a pistol and shot the strangler to death in order to save his victim.

I wonder what the outcome of this “experiment” would have been if it had taken place in any city in, say, Texas? (Yeah, we have elevators here....)

No kidding. I wonder how many poeple just figured it was a joke. Now that this kind of thing is out it should be pretty easy to murder people in public.

Depending on who’s getting strangled, my question might be: “You need some help with that”?

If anyone had been armed this would not have been funny They apparently thought they would be safe from this in NYC.
In my NYC days, I carried a knife in my pocket, which would have been embedded in the "attacker's" throat or kidney within a second of coming on the scene. This was a VERY stupid prank.

"I wonder what would have happened if a bystander pulled out a pistol and shot the strangler to death in order to save his victim." Not possible. NYC is a Gun Free Zone for civilians. Also a Big Gulp Free zone too.

According to some of the comments on YT and the original link, this is a promo for an upcoming movie.
Everyone involved is an actor.

I personally think the whole thing is a fake publicity stunt.
But I wouldn't blame the girls or old people from turning away (and hopefully calling the police from a safe area) What could they possibly do to a large man except make themselves a victim also?
Unless you personally think you could take out the aggressor, the best course of action would be to retreat to a safe area and call the police, or call for the help of others larger than yourself that might be nearby.

I am proud of the ones who attacked and tried to come to the aid of the “victim.”
I wonder what they would have done if someone like me tried to take off the “attacker’s” head with his Size 11 EEs?

My first thought was that this was incredibly stupid as something could have gone horribly wrong.
On the other hand, I have trained members of my family to protect themselves and family members first, and remain uninvolved in any public incident unless they have complete knowledge of the individuals and facts regarding the incident, and even then, family members safety is the primary concern.
Because of liberal socialist politics, law, media and courts, in America, I am surprised anyone would take the risk to be involved in any way.

Was the "victim" wearing a vote Obama campaign button? It makes a difference, you know.
To: JerseyanExile
Whoa. That was a
really dangerous thing to do.
If I had been coming in the door, I would have treated the perp's head like a soccer ball. If I am any where as good as I used to be, my toe would be buried in his right eye socket before he saw it coming. Even if he managed to somehow duck, my second effort would have crushed his skull.
Stupid idiots. They were just begging to be part of a real tragedy!
