If you were particularly enlightened, you’d know about the causal link, in some cases, between mental status and physical illnesses. It’s called “psychosomatic”. It’s not completely understood, of course, but cancer is one of the big lump of occurrences in this class.

I imagine one’s demeanor may be linked to some diseases (such as heart attacks, etc.). Cancer doesn’t seem likely. My old man was gentle, kind, calm and fun. Died of cancer at a young age many years ago. My mom was stern, often angry, nervous, gossipy and not much fun. Although in her old age she has sure softened around the edges.
