My Daddy used to tell me to never trust a husband who said he was the head of the household because he'd lie about other things, too.
My brother put it more succilently. He said he was the head of his household only in the nautical definition of the word head.

They don’t??? lol...they DID....they used to have it made. Get to spend all the time with your family or friends while the menfolk went out into dangerous situations, went to war, busted their butts working to bring home money.
And then the women's liberation movement screwed THAT all up.
