Per the Metro map, there's an easy transfer point from the Green Line (Prince George's County) at Fort Totten, to the Red Line (Woodley Park - Adams Morgan).

Here in the SF Bay Area, BART is known for being a conduit for crime, unfortunately. Anecdotally I've seen a spike in problems on the "spare the air" days when pubic transit was offered free of charge. I think some management types decided "spare the air" was good, but better when disengaged from the offer of a free bus or BART ride.

The article said “Hyattsville” station. I used to live in Hyattsville, Prince Georges County, so the writer probably meant the West Hyattsville station or possibly PG Plaza station. We would go out of our way to use the College Park (UMD) station just to avoid waiting for trains at the other two stations. Even though we could walk to the PG Plaza station, we would drive to College Park. We almost never went to the mall at PG Plaza, and I think we used the West Hyatsville station twice in the 10 years we lived there.
