God is infinite in his mercy and forgiveness. The blood of Christ covers all sins and if communion with God through the sacrifice on the cross is genuinely sought after, God will not deny the stray who comes home.

I believe the world is a better place for Chavez's death. If Chavez truly sought forgiveness for his sins, then he may be in a better place than he was on earth.
