Not to defend police officers for any reason, but it's generally standard department policy to suspend with pay any officer involved in a fatal shooting no matter what the circumstances. Not saying his 1995 shooting was justified, just that even if it was totally justified, his suspension would probably still show up on his record.

I remember a time in the USA when the majority of ordinary citizens routinely backed the cops in altercations.
A time when the cops were considered uniformed representatives of the local community, and it was shocking when one of them abused their authority.

While I applaud Mr.Perry for acting.

Police say Perry Stevens was walking outside of the Auto Zone on Greenwell Springs Road when he heard Harrison yelling for help. Harrison was reportedly on his back with Temple on top of him.
