Rapid City, and the Black Hills, are wonderful in the winter, contrary to popular opinion. It seldom drops below zero and has many warm spells. We have been able to golf every month of the year.

But, I wouldn’t want to live in the central or eastern part of the state. Nothing to stop the wind there.

Mr. RR and I have spent the past six weeks in Arizona. Had more snow and colder temperatures here than at home.

Another positive. Western SoDak is solidly conservative.

SD is a great place. I was there during the storm of 2000 and loved every minute of it. Wind Cave, Rushmore, Keystone, Spearfish, Deadwood, the Black Hills, your state has a lot to offer.

I did visit friends in Pine Ridge; not so good. But I couldn't visit the state w/o doing so. I love SD.

I stopped by Terry Peak in the late Winter a couple of years ago and found that I could easily live in/near the BH.

(We also went to Antiques Road Show there a year ago.)
