Update: or is the bill really dead? The plot thickens as the Denver Post updates is original reporting, and says Sen. Heath might not have made up his mind but his Democrat colleagues insist that no, his mind is indeed made up but the Senate President says those guys are just peddling rumors:...
--snip--
The controversial comments referenced by the Post include Democrat Rep. Joe Salazar suggesting that its better to arm high-strung women with rape whistles and safe zones instead of guns, so they dont freak out if they feel like youre gonna be raped and pop out that gun and you pop a round at random men. Meanwhile, Democrat senator Evie Hudak was explaining to the survivor of a brutal rape how guns are useless against sexual predators once a womans tae kwon do skills have proven ineffective. And the University of Colorado has been advising female students to repeal attackers with blood, vomit, urine, high-pitched screams, false threats of sexually transmitted disease, and passive resistance.

Well, stupid. You’re supposed to use the gun first! You can judo chop him all you like after he’s dead.
FReepmail me if you want to be on or off my Colorado ping list.
I never noticed anyone with a Colorado ping list. I'm not from Colorado, but I'm trying to start a list for each state that includes a FReeper with a state ping list for that state if that state doesn't have one already.
If I see a story about Colorado, I want to let you know. This is not expected to be a high volume ping list.
Do any of you have a state ping list for Colorado? Do any of you want to volunteer and take my Colorado list with the intent to grow it? Let me know via FReepmail. Then I can work on other states.
Thanks!
george76 has a CO ping list.
the gun debate could stretch into the weekend.
Thank you.
The legislative website works pretty good for searching:
http://www.leg.state.co.us/clics/clics2013A/cslFrontPages.nsf/HomeSplash?OpenForm
The seven laws we want defeated are:
House Bill 1228 (gun purchasers would have to pay a fee, likely $10, to cover the cost of a required background check on gun purchases)
Senate Bill 197 (new restrictions on gun ownership for people who have restraining orders and who have been convicted of a domestic violence offense)
House Bill 1229 (universal background checks)
House Bill 1224 (Magazine restrictions)
Senate Bill 196 (hold sellers and owners of assault weapons liable for damages)
Senate Bill 195 (No online CCW classes allowed)
House Bill 1226 (Banning CCW on campus)
I’ll be using that search engine to find out who votes FOR these illegal laws, and work actively to get them defeated or recalled.
I’m only in Colorado for another 30 days. After that I’ll be home in the great state of Texas!!!
Good luck!
The sidebar works as a good ping type list, too.
Best laugh I’ve had all day.
Pretty dumb.
One thing about martial arts — you have to be in contact with or in close proximity with the attacker. A gun? Not so.
The sooner that you can inflict injury and before your attacker can inflict injury on you, the more likely that you will win.
For 2 weeks, no one I call answers their phone and voice mail is full. They don’t want to hear from us.
Thanks for the tip
Same here.
I’m done calling.
I’m printing little business cards with their names and contact info on them. And how they vote.
And putting them everywhere.
Then, emailing them to tell them that I’m doing this.
We may be joining you in the coming years. Five generations of my family have lived in Colorado and I am considering leaving. This state is going down the tubes. The only thing that saved us was the Tabor amendment. Otherwise, the politicians would passing bad laws, making promises AND we’d be deep in debt.
Thanks for the link.
Please add me to it.
Thanks.
Universal background checks just passed a preliminary vote.
Recall is being initiated against 2 more CO Dems, John Morse and Evie Hudak.

“Anyone in the Colorado Springs area come to the Broadmoor Hotel tonight at 7pm. We’re having a meeting about beginning the recall process on John Morse and Evie Hudak.
We’ve already filed the official paperwork on Mike McLachlan and signature gathering begins next week.
We can also now take donations towards the recall efforts of these “legislators” that would destroy our freedoms.
Check out our website which contains details of the event: “
