How about this really old one called Tobacco Road?
“I was born in a dump, my momma died and my daddy got drunk. He left me here to live alone, in the middle of Tobacco Road. I despise you because you’re filthy, but I love you because you’re home.” And at the end of the song, he got rich off his talent and went back and bought Tobacco Road. Cool old song from way back when before many of us were born. I think Lou Rawles made that one, but I’m not sure.
