What the hell do teacher pensions have to do with this? Are you always such a dumb@ss, or did you practice up before posting this? Teachers have to teach the curriculum they are given, they cannot deviate from it. How about PARENTS reading with their children or teaching them something besides how to operate a TV set?

Since you are dumb and rude, let me explain (and I will type slowly so even you can follow). The awful teacher's unions have fought tooth and nail over the past 40 years so that dreadful, idiotic, unprepared teachers could not be fired; they have also fought against any kind of testing that would qualify teachers; thy fought against charter schools; in fact, they have fought against anything that would improve education for students. The only thing these horrible people did (the unions, not the teachers) was fight for themselves. Period. There...did that enter your skull?

Well, the unions are RAT, the "teachers" are RAT, the low information parents are RAT, hell most of NYC is RAT.
