President Barack Obama picked up the tab for a March 6 dinner with 12 Republican senators, winning himself some very cheap publicity for his new legislative strategy of outreach to swing-voting GOP lawmakers.
Senators leaving the event were complimentary about Obama’s statements and responses to their views, despite the deep ideological differences over spending, guns, families and immigration.
The invited Senators were picked by Obama and by Sen. Lindsey Graham, the high-profile Republican senator from South Carolina.

Methinks that somehow those ideological ‘differences’ evaporated mighty quickly as the booze started to flow. And those girls brought in afterward were something else!
Sure, it’s good to be king. But being a RINO in obamaland ain’t half bad either...
Obama will without a doubt get a handful of GOP squishes in the Senate to go along - there are always a few who lust for those rare editorials professing newfound respect which will magically appear in the NY Times and the Washington Post. The Senate will pass a huge increase, completely ignoring the constitutional mandate that revenue bills originate in the House. (They take some competely unrelated House bill languishing in the Senate awaiting action, strip it of all it’s provisions and substitute their desired tax, and pass it on the flimsy pretext that they are simply amending a House bill, which the Senate may do. That is how we got ObamaCare, after all.) They will likely get away with it. Obama will be able to count on at least Roberts and probably Kennedy on the SCOTUS performing amazing feats of pretzel-twisting logic to rule that the Senate did not in fact violate the origination clause.
Meanwhile, Ryan and other key players in the House, which under our constitution (remember that silly old thing) is where revenue bills must originate, didn’t get a free dinner on the taxpayer dime with Obama. Classic divide and conquer. And I expect it will work.
Encouragingly, those republican leaders are getting smarter. Now they make the boss take them out for dinner before getting f***ed.
No better traitor to help you pick out weak Republicans than Lindsey Graham.
And certainly Obama did not pick up the tab, who said that??
Maybe Lindsey is taking Reggie Loves place.

How can anyone be surprised? The House Repubs fully funded ObamaCare yesterday after promising to not do so during the last campaign. The Republican Party is dead but the body is so huge you can’t tell yet.
