Correct. Don't kill Americans in America using the weapons of war. It's important, but I don't underestimate the ability of Holder and Obama to *lie* to Rand to get his vote.
They lie, and Paul will fall for it.
If I’m not mistaken, I believe Rand has always seperated his votes for a presidential appointee from other issues, whether they be against that person, against their confirmation, or against the administration. Therefore, I’m concluding Rand’s mind is already made up as to whether he will or will not vote for Brennan, no matter WHAT Obama or Holder say.
The filibuster cannot last. Rand cannot hold the floor forever. And it is Rand’s time. Therefore he has to hold the floor and the others can only engage with him. So this delay’s time is limited. So no matter what Obama and Holder say or don’t say, do or don’t do, there will be a vote on Brennan.
That’s why I can’t agree that Rand will determine his vote based on what these people do or say. A vote will occur, and Rand has already demonstrated a great deference that he thinks is in the Constitution toward presidential appointments.
If he votes for Brennan, it would be because he doesn’t think Brennan is bad enough to override that deference.
Make no mistake, I don’t agree with his votes for any of these people. But disagreeing with him is just that - a disagreement.
I could not bring myself to help put Kerry, Hagel or Brennan, or Jack Lew for that matter, into their positions. I happen to think now is the time to make a stand against these statists and anti-America-as-founded types and through them, against Obama.
These are extraordinary times. Time is short. Time is running out. The Constitution is not a national suicide pact.
