Went to the link and read the article. The author gives some practical advice and can be roughly summed up:

...These are not survival skills, but they’re “keep the world spinning” skills and “make people feel they’re not living in the end times” skills. They will stand you in good stead.

Which leads to something I have pondered, with the help of FerFal, since accepting the idea that an economic collapse is a certainty. For every person who has some place to "bug out", there are 100,000 of us who do not. And life will go on. Period. Prepping is more akin to what the author states- staying ahead of any temporary shortages be it electricity, groceries, gas, even income but especially sanity.

Having a years worth of food and ammo will be great but is it really necessary (don't answer that)? Life goes on. Having two weeks to a month of any essential and nicity at any given time will be the premium goal. Getting creative and maintaining a positive attitude will navigate any common sense person through the mess.

I am no predicter of how things will play out, but let me take a stab at it and say that it will be a long slide, like she stated, with intermittent drops (barring nuclear strikes of course).

We’re already in a trade war. Only we’re not fighting back.

Please destroy your Chinese made computer, and send me messages via Pony Express. You’re putting an American letter carrier and horse out of a job.

Chinese were making gunpowder before Westerners were.

But thanks for arming the communist Chinese with rifles, rockets and nukes while throwing americans out of work so you can buy cheap bullets.

and no other country would do the same to us on our exports, so it’s totally a win.

Einstein, those other "trading partners" are already tariff-ing the hell out of our exports. You live under a rock?

You want out of the box thinking? A group of states should declare their independence from the USA, secession. There is no other way at this point, for citizens to get this out of control Farrel Government under control. It is time for some to leave. I would join them.

If countries want to tax “the hell out of” their citizens, let them.

I think you pro-tax Goobers really belong on an anti-freedom site where people don’t believe in my right to trade with whom I want without the GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE AND HIGH TAXES YOU PREFER.

The 1st United States Congress, wanting a straightforward tax that was not too onerous and easy to collect, passed the Tariff of 1790.

So President Washington, who signed that bill into law, was anti freedom?

LOL

If I have to choose between siding with George Washington or a$$wipe free traitors, I will choose the father of the country.
