Once there was a donkey who had to go through a forest, but was afraid of the wild animals there. So its master put a lion pelt on the donkey. When he went through the forest, all the animals left it alone, because they thought it was a lion. Then the donkey began to believe that it really was a lion, and decided to roar. When it roared, everyone knew it was just a jackass. But then all the lions became extinct, and in the ensuing generations, everyone forgot what lions sounded like. But the donkey's descendants still had a lion pelt, and brayed shamelessly, but everyone thought it was a lion's roar. So they were all afraid of the jackasses and their moldy, moth-eaten lion's pelt. The end.
