He continued, "So, ultimately, if Mitch McConnell or John Boehner say that we need to go to catch a plane, I can't have Secret Service block the door way, right?"
The comment was in response to a reporter's question.

We are, once again, out maneuvered. In the eyes of too many, the Republicans have caused it all - again. Don’t ever underestimate Obama. He is not stupid, he has his AGENDA to complete, and he’s making himself COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OF THE PROBLEMS we are seeing. The Sequestration? It’s all the Republicans’ fault. All of it. Every bit of it. He is totally exempt from any and all blame.
Will the Republicans EVER get smarter than the Liar in Chief? Will the People of these United States EVER open their eyes? It doesn’t look like it. Obama is KILLING US ALL, and he just keeps playing golf.

No, Obama is appealing to the ignorant voter that a dictatorship could solve the problem of Republicans (Who are to blame) getting in the way of progress.
A) Not his fault because the President has political strife from an opposing party
B) If I could be given these dictatorial powers political bickering would end.
This bold move should serve as a wake up call rather than a "foot in mouth" blunder because there are many people that would not mind Obama becoming a tyrant (Roman Republic type). A Col in the AF flat out told me she would back a temporary Obama tyranny in order to solve the economic mess "that he inherited".
We live in interesting times.

It is curious, he seems to constantly need to assert this (”I’m not an emperor, I’m not a dictator”. He must obviously be worried that is the impression of the public, but why would that be if there weren’t reasons for people to feel that way?

"Im not an emperor, Im not a dictator.
Buzz words that "it's the Republicans fault, not mine" appeal to very stupid and dangerous people that support him. Dangerous because they take their stupidity into the voting booth and out comes crap like Obama/Pelosi/Reid etc... with Federal Judges in-tow.

He could prove it by renouncing the right to execute American citizens without a trial.

How many people listened to Obama claim he is not a dictator and immediately thought of Nixon's similar denial:
