Go back through the agitprop posted by Federal employees on FR alone, it’s uncanny, practically lockstep. You’d get the impression that $24,000 a year is their gross salary instead of their net. Then, there’s “per pay period,” another attempt to mislead. “Per week” is actually easier to type and has the benefit of accuracy.

Well, not exactly. "Pay period" is more accurate. There are 26 pay periods per year, in two week intervals, when GS employees are paid. So "pay week" is not correct.
