The media universe is in a tizzy over the revelation that a White House official told Bob Woodward he would regret his coverage of the White Houses attempt to spin the sequestration debate. While I commend Bob Woodwards coverage, which rings true given what my own Republican contacts have said, now that we know that Gene Sperling was the source for the quotation, and can read the email exchange, it is clear that the statement, while certainly regrettable, was not some ham-fisted attempt to intimidate Woodward.

Listened to Foxnews Megyn Kelly ...and apparently there was a very heated and loud exchange between Wood ward and Sperling when Woodward called to inform Sperling of an article Bob had written.
>was not some ham-fisted attempt to intimidate Woodward.
No, it was a cleverly disguised threat. 0bamabots at the Washington Review now?
Just reading the eMails doesn’t explain why Woodward said what he did ....
Spam-fisted?
Yes, that's not debatable. The first line of Sperling's email is Sperling apologizing for getting loud and heated with Woodward.
Fisting Sperling......YIKES. He’s a little creep with a Napoleon complex.....and his hand isn’t in his coat!
...if this was an HOUR LONG phone call it wasn’t Sperling listening to Woodward.
Doesn't matter. He still represents and was speaking on behalf of a thuggish administration. I wasn't too impressed with this story when I first heard it. Guess I've become desensitized to Alinsky tactics. But then I realized these are different times. Obamacare opens up new avenues of blackmail, bullying, and opposition research against anyone who crosses the feds. Just another reason to abhor a law that's already a disaster.
Wait til Woodward has some health "issue."
He'll be dependent of Obama's "Death Panels (IPAB)" for the care he will need.
Then he'll know what Sperling meant by "regret."
And I’m sure the “media” would give the same “benefit of the doubt” if this had happened between 2000-2008.../s
The email is for the record. The dirt was done over the phone!
Nope, Woodward is not dead. But he would be advised not to go to the expense of renewing any magazine subscriptions in the future. Hope this furor from the Fuhrer about the implied threat gets him off the hook.
