He was a Clintonista, a regime henchboy, before he defended liar-lech-rapist-traitor Clinton. His defense of the indefensible removes him from the category of "gentleman".
If he'd defended Goat-Boy as a hired attorney, out of his professionalism, that would be one thing -- he'd be like Plato Cacheris and Uncle Bob Bennett (whom Clinton also hired), able to defend the Rosenbergs without becoming a Communist.
But he was Clinton's man, an ideological Clintonista, and devoted to the promotion of that scumshow called Slick and Beast, long before he got the call to defend Clinton before the United States Senate.

I have thought about ignoring this post but just decided that I was not going to be lectured to on a subject that I know as much about as any American alive. Thousands of news articles have reported on my activities, and an entire chapter in “Joe Conason and Gene Lyons” book, The hunting of the president’ was devoted to my activities.
