I’m old enough to remember sitting with my grandmother watching the Watergate hearings all summer like it was a soap opera. I remember Woodward back then and found him more respectable somehow than Bernstein, but that’s neither here nor there.
The point is- Woodward is a lib- but not of the sort we see these days, he has a certain kind of independence that is frowned upon by D.C. now. For him to say the kinds of things he’s been saying recently he must be honestly disenchanted by this president and administration and apparently shocked.
This is NOT someone who will fall in line like BO’s other media people. I think for Woodward to have gone public with this indicates he is REALLY worried- not necessarily about himself or his reputation/family etc...but about America. He’s telling us the character of the people running our nation.
