A shooting target company is now providing realistic targets depicting pregnant women, elderly men, young women, and children. An interview with a company representative revealed that the targets were made available upon request by law enforcement agencies. The company has to date received $5.5 million in contracts from DHS.

Like big-eared, successful pseudo-authors?
“I think I read yesterday, here on FR, that this target company has pulled said targets off the market.”
I’d advise you to carefully pay attention to the wording when you read statements like that.
The company said they pulled the targets from the internet, not that they stopped making or selling them. The wording would lead me to believe that they’re still going to manufacture them and sell them to the agencies that ordered them in the first place, however they won’t risk keeping the advertisements up on the internet to draw public criticism. The company’s “apology” as some people have termed it was equally obfuscatory and insincere.
WOW!
Taken offline, not off market.
Good catch.
The companys apology as some people have termed it was equally obfuscatory and insincere. //

That is an important distinction.
The info I wrote in #7 would be better stated that way, that they'd pulled to website ads... THEN LIED about it afterwards. This was discussed, with screen shots taken and saved, on the earlier thread at 42, 44, 51 et al.
Throw a Burkah on her and I don’t have a problem with it.
A two Fer!!!!!
Thanks, I didn't realize the association was as short lived as it was.
// The targets HAVE been pulled, as of last week. //
Correction: NOTE POSTS 42 AND 44 — the targets are still available, just are not on their website and subject to scrutiny any longer. They are not apologizing for making the targets, only for .
The push towards desensitization, therefore, continues... (as if it was really needed — unarmed Vicki Weaver was shot while holding her infant).
"Rainbow Farm was a pro-marijuana campground in Newberg Township, Cass County, Michigan, that was involved in a fatal police standoff on September 3, 2001. The campground was run by Tom Crosslin and his life partner Rolland "Rollie" Rohm, and was home to two annual festivals, "HempAid" and "Roach Roast", which ran from 1996 through 2001.
The operation ended with the burning down of all the structures on the property and the deaths of both Tom Crosslin and Rolland Rohm."
It’s always interesting how many times FR is mentioned and linked in other website and forums: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2138289/posts
I appreciate you mentioning this upthread - it is indeed relevant history, and we need to remember it.
Try to find a target with a black teenage male in a hoodie. Or an Arabic person in a keffiyeh. Now consider who you are more likely to ever be confronted with in a life or death situation. Political correctness and liberal insanity, that's all this is.
FR keywords were apparently new at the time, I just added the only one.
Don't bother training with these targets.
I'm a middle-aged white guy, generally dress modestly well, clean-cut, physically fit. If you find yourself staring down the barrel of one of my weapons please know two things. One, you are lucky to still be alive, the mere fact that you have had time to take in my appearance means I haven't decided to kill you - yet. Two, you must have completely over-stepped your legal authority, violated my constitutional rights, and made me fear for my life & liberty, else I wouldn't be pointing my weapon at you. The only move you have that will keep you alive is to slowly place whatever weapon you may have on the ground and obey every command without hesitation.
Why? That would be like ordering practice donuts to eat.
It would seem that the DHS is absolutely determined to give the Gestapo a run for its money.
- Never work to be #1 on the local prosecutor's list of ways to eventually be elected a Judge (Teter ran in 2008, but apparently lost and still works for the State AG).
- While consciously working on the legal edge, be real careful in never going over the line.
- If you are going to shoot at helicopters, you need to have some viable bug out plans (see Unintended Consequences).
Well, there's certainly no possibility of conflict of interest there.
