And furthermore Happy, if you are still allowed to purchase AR-15's, then I support YOUR government's ability to impose a tax on the purchase of your AR equal to the taxes on tobacco products and the lawsuit payouts which comes to about 175% of the cost of the original product..........So feel free to purchase your once $750 rifle for $2000.00 or more...........
And while we're at it, I'll also support any contrived lawsuits against your firearm industry that can make it into the court system........

Can you tax free speech? The conservatives in congress should try and put a tax on texting—say ten cents a word.
The ACLU will come out screaming about the sanctity of the 1st Amendment and then we can say what's good for the one is good for the two.
If not for Obama’s butt boy Jumpin’ John Roberts, such strategic litigation that could protect the US Constitution would work.
