What a week without FR!!!!
I know! I was going through withdrawal! It helped that we kept busy helping son and wife move. OH BOY!! The place they are living in is OLD! Right across the street from the river on Butler Street. Furnace didn’t work, pipes froze, smells funny! lol! Things are finally settling down. The company renting it out did fix it up inside. They are renovating all of the houses along that strip.

That is a pretty hot place today. Now that they are getting settled in they HAVE to go to Frankies near where Butler and Penn meet. IIRC it’s around 30th street.
Yunz ain’t a Lawencviller til yunz get used to...I mean eat at Frankies! Hot sausage and polish susage sammiches is all they have and I think it’s take out only.
The first time they will be put off by the dirt, the customers, the smell and the taste. Burning poo for several days afterward. Then a few days after you recover you get a craving to go back! Nothing else will do! You are hooked!
LOL! I’ll pass it along! They both had job interviews on Tuesday. They both look promising. DIL interviewed at a place near IKEA. Son interviewed at Dollar bank downtown. She has a second interview with Sherwin Williams for a management position. Fingers crossed that they get something SOON!
We’re going down to their place tomorrow. Maybe we’ll check it out!

So glad FR is fixed and all better. Now Frankie’s! Yoi!!! Haven’t been there in years...tell d-I-l that the onion smell that will stick to her hair really WILL wash away in 5 or 6 shampoos :) delish food (I remember a really great meatball sammie.)
And just a little venting guess where my daughter, idiot s-I-l, precious grandbaby, hyperactive dog and under employed baseball friend are (who is helping w/move by driving the other vehicle)??? Somewhere in Kansas. In Winter storm Q. Someday when it’s a slow news day I’ll vent...but they are driving to CO. In February...and what could possibly go wrong?!?
If that’s the big Dollar bank on 3rd and Smithfield (IIRC) that’s the building that took a year of my life LOL! My company had scaffolding all over the outside for nine months while we consolodated and restored the stone. We did all the brass inside and out and put a new lead lining in the gutter. Also put pigeon nets up and some other stuff.
We made a lot of money and won an award from the historical society. I still have a copy of the award somewhere and a freaking big piece of the building in my living room.
Hahaha! I’ll have to tell son about that!

Did yunz all hear Q&R talking about the postings on radio sites? WPGB numbers are down but not so much as to change format. One big issue is that so many stations including mine don’t use ratings anymore. The dtations that don’t use them thn are left out so no one really knows how any one station is really doing. It is a mess!
That story about the clean coal from Ohio was on my wires today too. Very interesting and far from “economically dubious” as the guy Jim was quoting claimed!
Thx for the prayer P6. We have heard from them in kind of a spotty way. Text & FB. We knew the storm was brewing last week. But in the “casual” what could go wrong way, they waited to leave on Wednesday afternoon. Why? So they could visit friends in Cincinnati (after the friends got home from work on Wed—they stayed there over night). Yesterday morning good first text (they were on I 70 in IL) and there was NO snow there yet (so of course the storm in their eyes was overhyped). We next heard from them in MO and it was snowing (but they were still driving). Later (still in MO) they HAD to exit 70. Back on road now. Somewhere in KS.
This trip is indicitive of the whole planning of this move. All four grandparents back here are beyond worried.
