Wrong conspiracy theory. They’re buying up vast quantities of ammo to drive up prices and ultimately drying up the market for it, in line with Obama’s “we can’t wait”/”We’ll take administrative action” strategy against the 2nd Amendment. They figured out that they can’t ban or confiscate guns directly, but that they can get at the ammo.

Is Obama trying to provoke a Civil War so he can play the part of Lincoln?
He has already made that comparison and recently.

...probably will sit in a govt storage warehouse - some of it will get pilfered by workers - and ultimately when (and if) there’s a change in the political environment - will sell the bulk ammo to the public for ridiculous low prices...

The Loyalist militia will require guns and ammo. They haven’t been stocking up like the rest of us.

I’d love to see a chart of the history of Federal government purchases of ammunition, broken out into military and non-military.
And by the way, where in the Constitution is the federal government given authority to establish national police forces?

Someone is putting out information to scare the public into buying weapons and ammunition. Those selling those items are going to be so wealthy, they can take their money and move elsewhere when the mess being created here blows up. Sheer genius.

Our tax dollars at work. Shameful.

It can't be for “mandatory training”, because those agencies don't have that many armed staff.
The Federal buys are making it difficult for State and local law enforcement to acquire ammo.
Since the general public is 3rd in line, this has a long term effect of drying up supply.
They are unaware of the number of folks who've planned ahead.
I'm also not worried about the Fed's training a bunch of desk jockeys, to act as some brown shirt squad.
