The extent to which GOP lawmakers are ridiculed by the MSM for trying to get to the bottom of Benghazi is unbelievable. If you missed Sen. McCain on Meet the Press today with David Gregory, its well worth watching now.
After explaining to Gregory that there are still a number of unanswered questions regarding Benghazi, McCain concludes by saying there s been a massive cover-up. Gregory is confused: A massive cover-up of what?
The crux of the interview, however, came when McCain asked Gregory whether he even cared that four Americans died (transcript via NewsBusters):
JOHN MCCAIN: I'm asking you, do you care-- I-- I'm-- I'm asking you, do you care whether four Americans died? Or do you-- the reasons for that? And-- and shouldn't pe-- people be held accountable for the fact that four Americans died--
DAVID GREGORY: Well, what you said was the cover-up--
(OVERTALK)
DAVID GREGORY: A cover-up of what?
JOHN MCCAIN: Of the information-- concerning the deaths of four brave Americans. The information has not been forthcoming. You can obviously believe that it has. I know that it hasn't. And I'll be glad to send you a list of the questions that have not been answered, including what did the president do and who did he talk to the night of the attack on Benghazi?
And why was it? Why was it that we-- that the f-- the people who were evacuated from the-- from the consulate the next day were not interviewed the next day. And then they would've known that it was not a spontaneous demonstration. Why did the president for two weeks, for two weeks during the heat of the campaign continue to say he didn't know whether it was a terrorist attack or not?
Is it because it interfered with the line of Al Qaeda has decimated? And everything's fine in that-- in that part of the world? Maybe. We don't know. But we need the answers. Then we'll reach conclusions. But we have not received the answers. And that's a fact.
But hey, what difference at this point does it make, right?
I can’t stand McCain, but he did good on this. Still, I don’t trust that a$$, McCain, any further than I can throw my house.
Not so ironically DNC Dave changed the topic really quick after McCain got out of line. McCain is a frequent guest because(as a reliable rino) he can be depended on by the DBM not to embarrass them or go conservative on them.He may not get invited back anymore.
Over the past year or even longer we here in the New Media have been lighting fires under McCain and his butt-boy Linda Graham's butt. Its to the point where they almost appear conservative on TV. Don't fret we know they fold in the company of the left. But they sure look conservative on TV.
They take all the obama/regime screw-ups for the week and try and soften them up before we get a shot at them the first part of the week. Its like that week after week.
Today it was more Benghazi "IT wont happen again"it was no one's fault". Brennan-- such a great guy, Hagel-- he's a Republican whats your problem?Hey you used to be buddys with him McCain, Lou-- what a great guy he didn't mean anything by taking an odd million bucks from a bankrupt firm or hiding dough in the caymans he's a great guy.
Its the same crap every week. But we need to spot it so we can keep talk radio on track.
Our work on the thread comes through week after week.
What you do has to get frustrating. But no one can do the job you accomplish. Thanks again for all you do.
You can always tell when McCain is about to concede something important, because he manages to burp out some statement that conservatives like, and want to believe, right before the political collapse.
He tries to imply things are happening behind the scene to change his mind, but nothing ever does.
The saddest part is that the people of Arizona bought his sales pitch and voted him back in.
Not just Americans. They have a higher status. Embassy staff are not tourists.
I guess they were over there sightseeing or shopping or so. My mistake.
I cant stand McCain, but he did good on this. Still, I dont trust that a$$, McCain, any further than I can throw my house.
Yes, McCain is good here. But this is a good example why the GOP doesn’t fight. The dims make everything a partisan conflict all way down to Rubio’s water bottle.
It would be non stop daily verbal combat for the GOP. They get beltway fever and just do not have the stomach to take on the MSM + Dims. Those cocktail party invites seem more important than the future of the country unfortunately.
Mesta I echo rodguy911 sentiments. Trying to make a difference sometimes becomes rougher than a corncob on a hemorrhoid in here and out there sometimes. Sometimes though all we have only the corncob when the outhouse beckons. You Mesta have made a sacrifice to attempt to/and help make this front page and the talk of every Sunday show. You have made, I believe, all of us proud to call you a true FRiend, and you are my FRiend. I appreciate your input and pings. I’ll not be gunning or hunting you. You would kill me. Yea, I know, bad joke. Lead on please Mesta, I’ll follow.
Shopping is pretty close. My guess is that they were in wholesale shipping.
Feigning disgust...while rope-a-doping the low info GOP-e voters..into thinking it's different this time. It's not Romney, McCain, or Dole....again. It's a NEW improved version of McCain!! Yeah that's the ticket!!
If the SOB continues to hammer away...I might change my mind. But I doubt that happens.
guess all you want, their status was that they were working in service to their country and that is a high status. THe enemy knows it even as John Mccain gets away with not educating the public of it a public so immersed in pastimes and govt handouts and their adoration for Bo that they have no idea.
-stay on.
I certainly pray I’m wrong and would love to be wrong, though I too (like many others on this forum) am waiting for the folding up of chairs and all goes back to being the same (actually worse) as things currently are. Still praying I’ll be wrong this time. Am willing to wait. This is the story of countless citizens who love this nation, heart, body and soul, and because we law-abiding citizens do love this nation with our hearts, bodies, and souls, we have waited and continue to wait. Sometimes though cups of drink are placed before a people, in nation, where waiting is no longer an option. May that time never come and that cup being forced upon our nation never be.
A much better reply to Gregory would have been “Don’t you care that four people died or was it the fact that one was homosexual and that is why you don’t care.”?
I’m not going anywhere. LOL
I’m just not going to try and keep explaining things over and over and over on 50 different threads. It’s all on previous threads and can be found in the Benghazi Index if anyone cares to go back and read what I have already posted.
I would say this though. Beware putting too much credence into this new ‘definitive’ book. The author writes military fiction, not investigative nonfiction.

brennan has some oversight over the drone program, but this Benghazi thing belongs dead in petraeus’ lap and he is being covered with roses. It stinks. Everything about petraeus stinks. Everything about his mistress story stinks.
The very idea that something like this could be going on under his nose without his knowledge deserves 10 Pinochios or more.
No worries, Mate.
