WASHINGTON, Feb. 17 (UPI) — Convicted terrorist Ramzi Yousef filed a lawsuit seeking release from solitary confinement in a high-security U.S. prison. Yousef, 44, has been in solitary for 15 years and said keeping him there indefinitely despite his good behavior amounted to a violation of his due process. A federal judge is expected to rule soon on whether the lawsuit can go to trial, the Los Angeles Times said Sunday.

Yousef was sentenced to life in prison for the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center in New York City. Six people were killed and more than 1,000 were injured in the blast. He has been locked up since his conviction at the federal “supermax” prison in Colorado. He is seeking a change in his status that will place him in the general prison population where he can have human contact and more time outside his cell. Yousef’s U.S. attorney told the Times the stress of years in solitary has already taken a psychological toll on his client. The lawsuit argues Yousef is being kept in solitary because of his conviction, which he cannot change.

But prison officials maintain Yousef remains a security threat and told him his “jihadist” leanings could result in communications that could result in harm to others.

Who wants to give odds on whether zero gives him clemency and orders him released?

Let him loose in the general population where he can be shanked.

That's my take. He'll last as long with that crowd as Jeffery Dahmer did. We can only hope he turns up beaten to death with a pipe and wrapped around a urinal some morning. The muzzies will try to protect him, but the Aryans will get him eventually. He has no clue what fire he's begging to jump into from that frying pan.

So you spent some time in corrections? I believe you, FR’s got folks from all over. OK, tell me, what chance does this guy have in GP? I think they’d kill him in the first year.

And this guy plotted the 1993 WTC bombings— entered the US on an Iraqi passport.

It is incredible that we think the US lacked rationales for attacking Iraq.

Probably not, he’d be converting them to Islam right and left. Maybe in a State Pen with dirty white boys he’d have a problem, but not here.
