When Push comes to Shove who does one listen to? City Police Chiefs or County Sheriffs? which group has power over the other?
Or do we ascribe to our own beliefs and relie on the Constitution?
As I remember, Concord is not just a name for a grape!

In most cases the chief of police is appointed “hired” by the local elected officials while the sheriff is elected by the people and funded by the state government.
So I would guess the local elected officials have much less influence over the sheriff.
