Meteor blast wave blows out doors and windows in Russia
There is a lot of good footage of this meteorite. (Especially thanks to the Russian fad of everyone driving around with dash cams in their cars. ) Russians estimate the explosion was the size of 20 Hiroshima bombs.
It's not a fad, it's a necessity. You'll start doing it too, when the insurance fraud artists here learn the techniques.
I have a sneaking suspicion that this “meteor” was part of a Russian military misadventure.
Some have I was asked to help stage them back in the 90s i parted company with that bunch post haste

Al Baby you almost make sense, almost. LOL!
Wise move. I saw a would-be scammer try his routine against an old lady in a Lincoln Town Car. Some nearby construction workers saw what he did, too - and administered some career guidance.
My wife says I am a work in progress. Thank you, I will alert her to your post
Same day as the 2012 DA14 near miss.
One heck of a coincidence!
They drive with their radios on too.
Apparently disco is still popular over there.
I still listen to disco
Corinth, Mississippi, 1985-87, number one place in the US for staged traffic accidents and burned down house claims. Wouldn’t have helped with a dash camera then, the sheriff and LE was in on the scam along with several physicians.
I think it is pretty clear from this video it is coming in too fast for a human launch, and in a wrong trajectory. Any failed launch would have the center of the earth as the center of a parabolic orbit, but this is not heading in that direction, it looks almost parallel to the ground at points. It seems like if the atmosphere was not there, it would have just skimmed by without hitting the Earth. I also think it heats up too fast for space debris.
There is good footage, and I don’t see an “explosion”. There’s a fireball that flares, then dims, while you can still the track of the meteor. So I’m not buying umpty kilotons. I think this was a huge sonic boom.
Here’s an amazing compilation of Russian dash cam video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itMdLTd1l4E

That's more or less the case with the Chelyabinsk meteor. It came in fast at a grazing angle, heated up, and exploded.
After seeing the flash, the Russians were outside with their cameras panning back and forth at the level contrail. Then the shockwave hit, knocking out windows and setting off car alarms and barking dogs. The delay between the explosion and the shockwave arrival indicates it was way up there when it exploded.
