Must quibble...
“Chernobyl” does not translate as Wormwood. “Chernobyl” translates as “Mugwort”.
Mugwort and Wormwood are plants of the same family (Artemisia), but are named Artemisia absinthium and Artemisia vulgaris, respectively.
Maybe, But the Ukrainian NIV uses that word to translate “Wormwood”. Perhaps it was a decision based upon local jargon, who knows. I just thought it was an interesting coincidence.
So your quibble is not with me, but with the Ukrainian Translators of the NIV.
All this talk of wormwood has me wanting to take a shot of absinthe when I get home tonight.
