I’ve read a little about ST. Hildegard in the year or two. I’ve wondered about this particular prophecy. It’s obvious to me that the great nation in the ocean would probably refer to the USA. I wonder who the eastern colonies are? The original 13 colonies? US Territories like Puerto Rico and the VI? Maybe close allies like our European Nato allies? And who are the Tiger and the Lion?

Before the comet comes, many nations, the good excepted, will be scourged by want and famine. The great nation in the ocean that is inhabited by people of different tribes and descent will be devastated by earthquake, storm, and tidal wave. It will be divided and, in great part, submerged. That nation will also have many misfortunes at sea and lose its colonies.

Birch is quoted as saying, “Most serious students of the prophecies consider the reference to a ‘great nation’ to be a reference to England.”

England had colonies and also was renowned for it’s great Naval Power.
