BEIRUT -- A high-ranking member of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps was assassinated this week while traveling from Syria to neighboring Lebanon, Iranian media reported Thursday, in the strongest indication to date that senior Iranian military commanders have been dispatched to Syria.
Gen. Hassan Shateri was killed Tuesday by "unknown gunmen," described as "suspected Israeli agents," as he was on the road between the Syrian capital of Damascus and Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, various Iranian news agencies reported.

Now it is from Debka:

DEBKAfile February 14, 2013, 10:12 AM (GMT+02:00)
Gen. Hassan Shateri, who was in charge of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards building projects in Lebanon, was shot dead Tuesday by a sniper, believed to be a Syrian rebel. The general had just arrived in Damascus on a flight from Tehran and, according to Gulf sources, had set out for Beirut, when his car was stopped by an ambush and the sniper took aim. They assume that Syrian rebels had been tipped off on the vehicle in which he was traveling.
He should have taken a helicopter.
I love the Israelis
Heh! Just what I was thinking.
Has anyone noticed that any time a Muslim kills a ranking Muslim of a different faction, they blame it on the Israelis? The Syrian rebels would assassinate an Iranian general who was helping Assad just as readily as the Israelis.
One of my theories is that they blame the Israelis because it keeps the hate alive and out in front of everyone. But the people they are preaching to already hate the Israelis. And everyone in countries outside the region just shake their heads a bit and say, “Of course it was the Israelis. They’re not stupid, you know.” But it could just as easily have been one or more of the warring parties in Syria. Do you remember “Murder on the Orient Express”?
In other news developments, SOS Cary announced he had a plan to talk Assad into leaving Syria on his own power...
Muslims don’t like to admit they kill each other.
Tipped of by the Mossad, whatever, one less dirtbag sucking air.
Maybe that explains why Lavrov has not returned Kerry’s phone call.
I wonder if the Mossad does any freelance work.
You looking to hire someone for a “Special Job”?
More likely some of Brennan’s Special AQ Forces....doing the job the US DOD won’t do.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
