Missouri Democrats introduced an anti-gun bill which would turn law-abiding firearm owners into criminals. They will have 90 days to turn in their guns if the legislation is passed.

Dana Loesch Radio reported on the new legislation being pushed by Missouri Democrats:

Any person who, prior to the effective date of this law, was legally in possession of an assault weapon or large capacity magazine shall have ninety days from such effective date to do any of the following without being subject to prosecution.

Here’s part of the Democratic proposal in Missouri:

4. Any person who, prior to the effective date of this law, was legally in possession of an assault weapon or large capacity magazine shall have ninety days from such effective date to do any of the following without being subject to prosecution:

(1) Remove the assault weapon or large capacity magazine from the state of Missouri;

(2) Render the assault weapon permanently inoperable; or

(3) Surrender the assault weapon or large capacity magazine to the appropriate law enforcement agency for destruction, subject to specific agency regulations.

5. Unlawful manufacture, import, possession, purchase, sale, or transfer of an assault weapon or a large capacity magazine is a class C felony.

You got that one right. I wonder if some guns may be reported stolen in the near future.

I think it would be easy to conclude that these Dems are criminals for attempting to deny citizens their constitutional rights and can be considered a threat to individual safety.

Before I thought citizens militia’s were a bunch of nuts. Now???

How about 90 days for Democrats to pack up and leave the country? I like that one much better.

Actually believe this should be enforced post haste.

Democrats are badly outnumbered in the House and Senate.

Posturing by attention whore Democrats with a bill that will never see the light of day.

Let them prattle on. They have no idea what they are going to see in next years election cycle:

1. Cannot locate many calibers of ammunition for hunting or for self defense

2. Backorders on any magazines/clips holding more than 10 rounds

3. Most weapons on backorder or unavailable for an unknown period of time

Every hillbilly, hunter and constitution-loving American will be at the polls next year voting for anyone with a “D” not by their name.

Pre Obama I owned no firearms, but after one term with this fool at the helm, I now have 4.

Good let the democrats in a red state show their true colors trying to push a law that probably couldn't even pass in the darkest blue state. The Republicans now control the Missouri legislature by a 2/1, if the dems keep this up it could be 3/1 after the next election...

I don't think they care if this passes yet. They want to get people used to the idea that such legislation can be offered and is a legitimate government response to mass shootings - rather than outright subversion of the Constitution.

Passage can wait until later, when they are in a better position to force it through.

I don’t think I would want the job of enforcing that law.

Cracks me up that the Royals and I think the Cardinals are rabid Antigun buttwads. In a Midwest state with a large country population.

from the bill
http://www.house.mo.gov/billtracking/bills131/biltxt/intro/HB0545I.HTM

(1) “Assault weapon”, any:
(a) Semi-automatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and has one or more of the following:
a. A pistol grip or thumbhole stock;
b. Any feature capable of functioning as a protruding grip that can be held by the nontrigger hand;
c. A folding or telescoping stock; or
d. A shroud attached to the barrel, or that partially or completely encircles the barrel, allowing the bearer to hold the firearm with the nontrigger hand without being burned, but excluding a slide that encloses the barrel;
(b) Semi-automatic pistol, or any semi-automatic, centerfire or rimfire rifle with a fixed magazine, that has the capacity to accept more than ten rounds of ammunition;
(c) Semi-automatic pistol that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and has one or more of the following:
a. Any feature capable of functioning as a protruding grip that can be held by the nontrigger hand;
b. A folding, telescoping or thumbhole stock;
c. A shroud attached to the barrel, or that partially or completely encircles the barrel, allowing the bearer to hold the firearm with the nontrigger hand without being burned, but excluding a slide that encloses the barrel; or
d. The capacity to accept a detachable magazine at any location outside of the pistol grip;
(d) Semi-automatic shotgun that has one or more of the following:
a. A pistol grip or thumbhole stock;
b. Any feature capable of functioning as a protruding grip that can be held by the nontrigger hand;
c. A folding or telescoping stock;
d. A fixed magazine capacity in excess of five rounds; or
e. An ability to accept a detachable magazine;
(e) Shotgun with a revolving cylinder; or
(f) Conversion kit, part, or combination of parts, from which an assault weapon can be assembled if those parts are in the possession or under the control of the same person.

- - - -

Doesn’t the forend of the stock meet the definition of 1(a)b & d?

And if any 3rd party manufacture ever makes a 11 or more round magazine, your semi-auto pistol becomes an assault weapon regardless of original manufacture or other features?

So what’s the legislative make up of Missouri?

Doesn't matter. It opens a door to introducing a bill to make insanity in public elected and appointed officials and candidates a felony, regardless of age, race, party, sex, citizenship or national origin.

That ought to clear up most governing problems.

Cuba might be a good destination.

Great idea Ripley! Gimto is a "gun free" zone for the new politician "residents" and they should feel safe there!

If the repubs are smart (huge if), they will usher this bill to an immediate roll call vote.

- Get these Dems on record with a vote cast in favor of confiscation.

They forgot option (4:) Use said weapons and magazines to exercise Constitutional right of self-defense against overreaching tyrannical government attempting to deny the citizenry of their basic rights, specifically removing every elected official that voted in favor of this law.

We could use a sanctuary city, never mind state, for conservatives, while any remain.

Eventually we’ll be on a reservation anyway.

I like my current tagline but the line that goes through my mind numerous times while reading FR is, “And what are you DOING about it?”

What we ought to be doing, in this case, is converging on the steps of the Missouri legislature and protesting not only their proposed bill, but their very presence in the building.

When will sane people get together and proclaim, this has gone far enough?

The Founding Fathers would never have stood for this. They wouldn’t have shrunk from fighting and sacrificing their comforts and conveniences. They would not have placed their children in these compost heaps of public schools, either.

In their day, any publisher who printed the mental manure that our media spreads today, would be afraid to show his face in public.

Nuts or not, you can be sure they all have FBI moles in their ranks - which makes them ineffective.
