Granted Canucks spend money here.
Some of them are real shmucks though.
And they drive REALLY slowly !
“Florida passed the law so that its law-enforcement officials would not encounter drivers licence documents in languages they could not read”
Can their law enforcement officials understand plain English?
It's that damn metric system conversion.
Driving through Ontario last year on "the 401"...which is one of their major highways...I saw a couple of huge signs saying that if you're caught doing more than "X" number of kph over the speed limit you can get a $10,000 fine.I can't remember what that figure was and I don't understand kph but that's a whole lotta cash.Maybe that's why they drive slowly.I drive in Quebec from time to time and don't recall ever seeing such a sign so maybe it's not a national thing.
And they drive REALLY slowly !
LOL. Living here in the Coachella Valley (think Palm Springs area) of California, our population increases by about 35% each winter when the “snowbirds” arrive from British Columbia, Alberta, Washington, Oregon, etc. The biggest complaint of us locals is that these folks drive well below the speed limits and usually in the left lanes. Then they write to the local newspaper that we Californians should lower our speed limits.
LOL, some of us do.
This past week alone, I saw 6 Canadian motorists who were pulled over for speeding.
62 mph in a 50 mph zone. 43 mph in a 31 mph zone.
This is in Imperial for ease of understanding, but up here we understand that if you don't want a ticket, you don't do 100kmh in a 80kmh zone, or 70kmh in a 50 zone.
